UZH Entrepreneur Fellowship supports research into new therapeutic approaches for autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease

We are pleased to announce that Taiyo Yamamoto, postdoc at the Institute of Anatomy, has been awarded an UZH Entrepreneur Fellowship for his project on autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). 

The project builds on a new disease mechanism recently identified in the group of Prof. Soeren Lienkamp and pursues it as a therapeutic entry point for ADPKD, an inherited kidney disease with limited treatment options. It aims to validate promising therapeutic targets as the basis for a future spin-off or industry partnership.

The UZH Entrepreneur Fellowship (Bio & MedTech track) supports young researchers in translating their scientific findings into commercial applications. In addition to funding, fellows benefit from tailored training in entrepreneurship, expert mentoring, and access to the UZH IncubatorLab in Schlieren.
