SNSF grants awarded to Prof. Lukas Sommer and Prof. Andrew Hall
The institute celebrates the success of Prof. Lukas Sommer and Prof. Andrew Hall, who have each been awarded research grants from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Both proposals were approved in full, underscoring the strength and competitiveness of research at our institute.
Prof. Sommer’s project "Decoding peripheral glial cell states and functions in skin morphogenesis" aims to investigate the states and functions of peripheral glial cells during skin development, providing new insights into the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying tissue morphogenesis and scarless wound healing.
Prof. Hall’s project "Illuminating metabolite flux and sensing in kidney health and disease" will use cutting-edge intravital imaging techniques developed by his group to map 4D patterns of metabolite usage in healthy and damaged kidneys, to gain new insights into the metabolic origins of kidney disease.
We warmly congratulate Prof. Sommer and Prof. Hall on these achievements!
