Numbers of medical students increase
With the start of the fall semester 2017, the Medical Faculty of the University of Zurich increased its number of medical students by 72. From now on, 372 students (including max. 20 students of chiropractic) will be enrolled each year in the study program of human medicine. The number of students studying dental medicine remains constant at a level of 50 students per year. At the same time, also the ETH decided to start a bachelor study program in human medicine. In September 2017, the first 100 students started in this new program.
The Institute of Anatomy will contribute to the medical study programs at both the UZH and ETH. Hence, a total of 522 students (human medicine, chiropractic and dentistry) is now trained per academic year in Gross Anatomy, Histology and Embryology.
