Spin tissue processor

The Microm spin tissue processor STP-120 processes automatically biological specimens from chemical fixation to paraffin infiltration. It uses programmable gentle centrifugal force to augment normal vertical agitation associated with carousel processors.

The spin tissue processor is exclusively handled by staff members of the
institute introduced to the device.

Loading conditions:

Please consider the loading conditions (PDF, 211 KB). One run can be loaded with up to 80 small cassettes or 40 big cassettes. A mix of both cassette types is possible. Please calculate your total load in units (1 small cassette = 1 unit, 1 big cassette = 2 units) when booking.

Service for non-members of the Institute of Anatomy:

Samples can be brought to the histology lab for processing. For non-members of the institute, bookings are only possible for the 1.30 pm runs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, respectively. The run lasts until 8 am next morning.  Please deposit your tissue samples in the according cassettes in the histology lab until 1.00 pm.
